Our Perception and Our Beliefs Shape Reality.

Perception

We all understand in some way what perception means. Basically, our perception is the way we interpret the world, and we usually do so through our senses. Through them, we receive information from our environment or context.

Much of how we interpret this information has a lot to do with how we acquire it. That is, perceiving the noise of a passing truck while seeing it from the window of our living room is different from perceiving the noise of a truck approaching at high speed while we try with all our might to cross the road as quickly as possible.

Now, our perceptions are largely influenced by our beliefs and values (understood as those things, situations, premises, etc., to which we give some kind of “value”). Our values are configured as basic beliefs that are tied to our emotions. The value of friendship will depend on the bond of affection we have experienced in a friendship…

It is well known that we perceive visually with our eyes, right? However, it is not entirely true. We do not “see” the world with our eyes, we do so with our brain. Our eyes are merely a tool through which specific information passes, which is ultimately decoded, filtered, and interpreted in our brain.

Reality

The above illustrates the premise that, following the example of visuals only, everything we believe to be the reality around us, because we see it, is not at all what it really should be. Rather, it is how we are or, better yet, how we interpret the world should look.

And all this is to emphasize that the “reality” we see is our “beliefs” about it. In short, our beliefs are responsible for filtering and transforming the way we perceive “TRUTH” and the possibilities that this entails. We do not experience “REALITY” itself, but our own reality of it, and our beliefs transform our reality.

That is why it is extremely important to understand and analyze our beliefs, especially those that tend to be limiting on a specific topic. These beliefs impact our “reality”. If we believe that only people who do something wrong or trample over others succeed, our interpretation of reality will be shaped that way and we will see people who achieve success that way, or it will lead us to succeed in that way. If we believe we are a failure, so it will be. If we believe that we must have a professional career, studies, and research to pursue what we want to do or achieve a position, so it will be.

Yes, I believe that all men are the same… precisely what I find in each of them… the same… and so it is with everything… that I believe I need to be happy, that I believe I must do to fulfill my dreams. And above all, what “perception” do I have of my life that causes me problems? Is it the reality that I have these problems or is it simply my interpretation of them?

So…

I want to emphasize that 90% of the problems we “believe” we have are due to the perception we have of them. That is, how we see things and how they contrast with our limiting beliefs. Our perception shapes our reality and determines how we experience problems. Therefore, it is crucial to understand and analyze our beliefs, especially those that are limiting in specific areas of our lives. These beliefs have a direct impact on our reality. If we believe that only people who act inappropriately or take advantage of others succeed, our interpretation of reality will be affected and we will only see examples of people who achieve success in that way. Similarly, if we believe we are a failure, our reality will adjust to that belief. That is why it is essential to change our perception and beliefs to transform our reality. We should not seek to be right or have absolute “truth” since each person constructs their own truth based on their experience and beliefs. Changing our perception and beliefs may seem difficult, but it is possible if we are willing to question our limiting beliefs and adopt a more open mindset. Good luck in this transformation process!

What to do?

The answer is simple: change your perception of everything surrounding the issue and, in this way, the beliefs that are in it will change. Or change your beliefs and their perception will transform. Do not seek to be right or have the “truth” since there is no single one. If something has become clear from the above, you will understand that we build “truth” with our experience, our beliefs, and ultimately our actions.

In summary, to transform our reality, we must be willing to change our perception and question our limiting beliefs. We should not cling to a single truth, but be open to different perspectives and experiences. This transformation process can be challenging, but it is worth it to achieve a more enriching and satisfying reality.

Good luck in this transformation process!
